General Description of Requirement

The City of Vancouver (the “City”) is a Part 3 fuel supplier for: a) the use of compressed natural gas, compressed renewable natural gas, and electricity in the City’s fleet, and b) the sale of electricity for public EV charging. The City currently has 1,384 Credits as of September 9, 2019. By 2020, the City expects to be generating approximately 3,000 Credits per year, with future growth anticipated in the next decade. The City seeks one or more Part 3 fuel suppliers to transfer the City’s Credits under the Greenhouse Gas Reduction (Renewable and Low Carbon Fuel Requirements) Act (the “Act”). A written agreement would document the City’s and fuel supplier’s mutual agreement on the number of Credits to be transferred, the price per Credit, and the date of the transfer. The City and the fuel supplier would together submit a Credit Transfer Proposal form to the designated Director under the Act. Refer to Part B for additional statistics.
