3:00:00 pm (Local Vancouver Time), Thursday, January 7, 2021

Vancouver Time” will be conclusively deemed to be the time indicated in the electronic timestamp the Tender receives upon delivery to the email address specified herein, which is in turn synchronized to Network Time Protocol (NTP) provided by the National Research Council of Canada adjusted to local Pacific Time Zone.

CLOSING LOCATION

Tenders are to be emailed to bids@vancouver.ca and must be received at bids@vancouver.ca prior to 3:00pm, Vancouver Time (as defined in Note 3), on
January 7, 2021 (the “Closing Time”).

Tenders will be not be publicly opened. Tender results can be found within 48 hours of the Closing Time at the following website:

Tenders must be delivered to the email address specified above prior to the Closing Time.

The City of Vancouver is open on business days from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Vancouver Time, and is closed Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

DO NOT SUBMIT TENDERS BY FAX.

Tenders received after the closing time may be returned unopened.

General Description of Requirement

The City of Vancouver (the “City”) invites Tenders for the Haro Street Transmission Main Replacement for Gilford Mini-Park.

The Work generally includes, but is not limited to:

preparation and installation of planting,
-installation of shrub and ground cover areas,
-installation of turf grass lawn area,
-installation of rain garden at East end of Mini-Park,
-replacement of trees adjacent walkway impacted by water main construction;

construction of concrete sidewalk and re-construction of hardscape,
-construction of curb sections directly adjacent mini-park frontages, including the asphalt slot required for installation,
-construction of widened concrete park walkways to replace paver walks,
-permanent restoration of pavement cut on Rosemary Brown Lane,
-removal of hardscape and retaining wall,
-placement of reclaimed granite boulders,
-offsite disposal of existing fill / landscaping and retaining wall elements;

installation of public drinking fountain (fountain supplied by the City),

design and installation of park landscaping irrigation to Park Board specifications,

street lighting relocation and upgrades,
-installation of street light pole 5/18 at Haro Street,
-reinstatement of two direct buried lamp standards in the mini-park,
-trenching and installing RPVC conduit, junction boxes, and re & re of existing lights and pole bases to facilitate the pole relocations, except wiring.

The Work Site is located at Haro Street and Gilford Street, British Columbia. The Work Site is further described in the Tender Documents, including the Site Plan attached with the drawings.

Information Meeting

INFORMATION MEETING

Tenderers are invited to attend an optional information meeting (the “Information Meeting”) on December 7, 2020 commencing at 11:00 am.

The location of the Information Meeting will be: Haro Street and Gilford Street, Vancouver, British Columbia.

Tenderers are asked to pre-register for the Information Meeting by submitting the Information Meeting Attendance Form (Appendix 1) to the Contact Person by email prior to 3 pm December 2, 2020.

ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS

Tenderers are asked to indicate their intentions to submit Tenders by submitting the Response Notification Form (Appendix 2) to the Contact Person by email on or before December 10, 2020.

It is the sole responsibility of each Tenderer to check the City’s website at
http://vancouver.ca/doing-business/open-bids.aspx regularly for addenda, amendments and questions and answers related to this ITT, which the City may issue at any time during the process, and for any reason, at its discretion.
