General Description of Requirement

The City of Vancouver (the “City”) invites Tenders for the construction of mechanical upgrades for the Thornton Pump Station in the “False Creek Flats”. While the City is primarily concerned with upgrades to this pump station the City is also inviting pricing for the mechanical upgrades for the Terminal Central and Charleson Park pump stations, this work for such may or may not be acted upon at the City’s sole discretion.

The Work generally includes, but is not limited to:

(a)Thornton Park Pump Station: Replacement of pump discharge piping, and installation oftwo mixer pumps, and associated electrical work;

(b)Terminal Central Pump Station : Installation of a flow meter on the discharge pipingoutside of the station between two existing chambers and associated electrical work;and

(c)Charleson Park Pump Station: Complete replacement of one mixer pump includingguiderails and associated electrical work and replacement of the existing flow meter outside of the station

Information Meeting

Tenderers are invited to attend information meetings (the “Information Meetings”) on September 17, 2019 beginning at 1:00 PM which will include visits to Thornton Park Pump Station, Terminal Central Pump Station and Charleson Park Pump Station (“Sites”). The City anticipates 30 minutes at each site and 15 minutes travel time for these visits. Please note allattendees must have proper personal protective equipment (“PPE”) in order to attend these meetings.

The location of the Information Meetings will be at the three Sites:

a)Thornton Park - northwest corner of Terminal Avenue and Station Street in Vancouver;

b)Terminal Central – corner of Terminal Avenue and St. George Street in Vancouver; and

c)Charleson Park - between 900-1000 Charleson one block North of Oak Street and West 6thAvenue in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Tenderers are asked to pre-register for the Information Meetings by submitting the Information Meeting Attendance Form (Appendix 1) to the Contact Person by email prior to 3:00 pm September 16, 2019.
