General Description of Requirement
The City of Vancouver (the “City”) invites Tenders for construction services for renovations/tenant improvements to Homeless Outreach Centre at 392 Powell Street. Three Commercial retail units are being combined to create a street access public services office. Space is newly restored and upgraded without fixtures/fittings.
The Work generally consists of deconstruction, construction, electrical, data, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
i) Deconstruction of gypsum wall board (“GWB”) partitions, flooring, electrical. New openings in demising walls.
ii) Construction: walls for four enclosed offices (remainder of space open office), fit out of washrooms, buildout of lunch/coat room, new lighting throughout, new HVAC throughout, minor sprinkler reconfiguration to suit enclosed offices, new data/electrical, new card reader access to back doors. Ramp required to connect 2 CRU's given existing height difference in floors. New rooftop units.
iii) Supply of new / modify existing life safety equipment as required suiting new layouts and ceiling tile replacement (smoke detectors, fire alarm, exit signs, sprinklers). Provide life safety system verification and associated costs.
The Site is located on the ground floor of the Tamura House building; a Class A heritage designation, on the North West corner of Powell Street and Dunlevy Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia. The Site is further described in the Tender Documents.
MANDATORY INFORMATION MEETING
Tenderers are required to attend the mandatory information meeting (the “Mandatory Information Meeting”) on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 commencing at 10:00 am.
The location of the Mandatory Information Meeting will be: 392 Powell Street, Vancouver,
Tenderers are asked to pre-register for the Mandatory Information Meeting by submitting the
Mandatory Information Meeting Attendance Form (Appendix 1) to the Contact Person by fax or
email on or prior to Monday, October 30, 2017.
Tenderers are asked to indicate their intentions to submit Tenders by submitting the Response Notification Form (Appendix 2) to the Contact Person by fax or email on or before Friday November 3, 2017.
