General Description of Requirement
The City of Vancouver (the “City”) invites Tenders for construction services for a new in
ground potable and fire suppression water lines and electrical power upgrades to the Burrard
Civic Marina (the “Marina”).
The Work generally includes, but is not limited to:
(a) construction of the electrical substation and its grounding as per the BC Hydro and the
Drawings and Specifications;
(b) construction of an underground cabling, which includes all electrical devices such as
transformers necessary for the new power distribution system to the Marina – north and
south portions next to the Burrard St. Bridge as well as to the Marina building;
(c) construction of a new underground potable water and water lines for the fire suppression
systems for the Marina and its future dry stand pipe system. These new systems are to be
connected to the existing portions of the Marina and its building;
(d) construction of a new and restoration of the hard and soft landscaping affected by the
trenching and installation of the new utility distribution systems;
(e) the Contractor shall be responsible for all trade and associated construction permits and
notifications or work;
(f) providing and maintaining a traffic management plan that will involve the operations of
the Marina and the sea wall traffic, pedestrian cycling and vehicular. The traffic
management plan shall be consistent with the requirements set out in this ITT, be
consistent with the project schedule , include signage to WorkSafeBC and City
engineering standards, and have Traffic Control Persons (TCP) qualified to direct safe
movement at the Site;
(g) make all necessary connections to the Marina;
(h) allow the Marina to maintain its operations and services provided to the public and its
members during the Work;
(i) coordinate the Work with the City’s Environmental and Archeological consultants, which
will be reviewing the excavation work;
Environmental Pollution Liability Insurance is required for this project. Please refer to GC11.2
of Part D – Form of Agreement for the insurance requirements.
The Site is located at the Burrard Civic Marina, 1655 Whyte Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia.

Information Meeting
Tenderers are invited to attend an information meeting (the “Information Meeting”) on
Wednesday, March 22, 2017 commencing at 9:00 a.m.
The location of the Information Meeting will be at the Burrard Civic Marina at 1655 Whyte
Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia. Tenderers are asked to meet at Marina office building.
Tenderers are asked to pre-register for the Information Meeting by submitting the Information
Meeting Attendance Form (Appendix 1) to the Contact Person by email prior to 3:00 p.m.,
March 21, 2017.
ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS
Tenderers are asked to indicate their intentions to submit Tenders by submitting the Response Notification Form (Appendix 2) to the Contact Person by email on or before April 7, 2017.
