General Description of Requirement
The City of Vancouver (in its capacity as landowner, the “City”) currently owns in fee simple the entire downtown block at 688 Cambie Street (the “Property”) and is considering the parcel’s development future. A portion of the block is intended to be the future location of the Vancouver Art Gallery’s (“VAG”) new building (the “VAG New Building Project”). The remainder of the block is anticipated to be redeveloped as a large commercial development (the “Project”). The City is seeking expressions of interest for the long term lease and redevelopment of the remaining property (the “North Parcel”) as a commercial development located at the gateway to the downtown business core. As a significant property within the downtown and adjacent to the Skytrain Station and the future Vancouver Art Gallery, the North Parcel represents a prime development opportunity on the key corners of Dunsmuir Street and Cambie Street / Beatty Street.
