General Description of Requirement
The City has an immediate requirement to purchase eight (8) class 8 heavy duty tandem rear axle
dump truck chassis as per the specifications set out in Appendix 1 to Part B – Technical
Requirements, with an option to purchase up to twenty-five (25) similar single and/or tandem rear
axle units during the term of the contract. The City is committed to reducing its environmental
emissions and fossil fuel consumption. In order to reach target reductions, an electric vehicle with
equivalent performance and function as per these specifications is preferred. CNG, hybrid and other
available power plants will also be considered, evaluated, and prioritized appropriately, and must
meet performance specifications.
