General Description of Requirement
The City of Vancouver (the “City”) is seeking expressions of interest (“Expressions of Interest”) from vendors with expertise in Construction Management and General Contracting to be retained by the City for a period of 3 years with options to renew for 2 1-year periods. The objectives to identify such vendor are:
To be assigned work by the City for single successive projects on an “as needed basis” using a structured process to reduce the administration of select engagements (standing contract with a templated schedule for each project);
-To perform the function of a General Contractor (“GC”);
-To be retained under a CCDC-2 stipulated sum contract;
-To offer constructability advice to the City as and when each project dictates;
-To perform subcontractor engagement per the City’s instructions as set out in the contract (3 quotes or similar);
-To carry the construction risk for the construction work; and
-To coordinate with and report to a City-designated project manager per project.
Currently, the City’s construction purchases are performed as single, discrete procurements as and when they are required.
