General Description of Requirement
The City of Vancouver Park Board is seeking food and beverage businesses interested in
operating out of a contemporary building that will be integrated into the newest park planned
for the downtown core. The core and shell of the building will be built by the Park Board in
2018/2019, but the business operator will be responsible for all tenant improvements and
fittings within the building.
The Park Board is in the process of developing a 0.8-acre park in the downtown core of Vancouver. The park, located at the corner of Smithe Street and Richards Street, will serve 11,000 residents and nearly 18,000 employees within a 5-minute walk of the site.
This initiative is a rare opportunity to introduce new park space to downtown Vancouver. Prior to this park development process, the most recent addition to Vancouver’s downtown park inventory was Emery Barnes Park, which was completed in 2012. Emery Barnes Park is one of Vancouver’s hardest working parks due to the housing density of the neighbourhood as well as the millions of annual visitors to Vancouver.
